From being an engineer to an inventor, a business magnet to an intelligent investor, Elon Musk, a 45 years old young man is truly the definition of human machine. Seeing the graph of Elon’s life, we believe that you are the product of decisions you make. He believes in failing, says if you are not failing then you are certainly not innovating enough. Innovation is the product of failure.
Elon Musk is the founder, CEO and CTO of SpaceX, which makes him the man who makes aircraft and rockets He is also known for being the co-founder of Tesla Motors, SolarCity, OpenAI, Zip2 and Paypal. Five years back in October 2002, PayPal was acquired by eBay for $1.5 Bn in stock, out of the entire money Musk earned $165 Mn. Recently in the April 2016, he became an estimated net worth of $12.3 Bn, which made him the 68th wealthiest man in the Unites States Of America.
Many people believe Elon Musk has a photogenic memory. He considers himself as a reading maniac. He is a serious reader and loves to read any kind of book. Whenever people ask him any question about his success and how he learned to build rockets, he has this simple answer to all the questions.
“I read books,” that’s all he responds. This man has always been inevitably hungry for the written words.
His journey from being bullied at his teenage days to having the strongest memory of remembering every word he reads, this man has proved himself factually with time. He reads more of biographies than any of these business development books, as he claims to learn from people’s experiences than their advices. Experiences seem to attract this expert more than the advices.
The genius has never claimed to have a photographic memory but has talked openly about his enhanced ability to visualise important things that are specifically related to physics. It looks like he has a photogenic memory, but probably that because of his reading abilities. He has read so much by now, that his mind has adapted to reading and remembering every single word Elon reads.
There are certain rules Elon Musk follows to gain success:
Do What You Love
If you are not doing what you really like, then you might not be able to excel in that. Even if you are the best in your work, there are chances that have to face failure. So, it is very important for a person who is aiming for success to like what he/she is doing.
Make your passion your work, so that you never really have to work for success.
Never Give Up
Giving up is the worst we do to ourselves. No matter how hard the situation get, how big the failure is, one should never give up. Failure helps you improve your work, it helps you learn and grow in life. You should always take failure positively in order to grow in life.
Elon himself has faced two continuous failures in life, where his attempts to send rockets to space failed. Both of them costs $90 Mn in total, yet he never gave up on his skills and knowledge. He continued on his third attempt, which was successful. On giving up he says, ‘I don’t ever give up. I’d have to be dead or completely incapacitated.”
The first and foremost step towards success is to take risks. You should be able to take bold steps in order to obtain success. It has nothing to do with fear. You can be successful, only is you are fearless.
